The scenery

The chalk conservatory and organisms are original Deep Bowls artwork. The displayed organisms come from a recorded output of the bounded artificial-life model. The gently changing terrain is an illustrative heightfield; it does not change their biology, resources or history.

Terrain triangles use Delaunator 5.0.1 (ISC license). Smooth terrain variations use simplex-noise 4.0.3 (MIT license). These libraries are served locally with their notices. No third-party biological scans are presented as our simulated organisms.

The sound

Brown noise and the sparse instrumental notes are generated locally in the browser. They contain no sampled music. Sound starts only when selected and stops when you leave the page or choose silence.

The physics lesson

The short introductory text is original narration. It is read by a locally generated synthetic voice using Piper and the public-domain LJ Speech dataset. It is audible, optional and available as text. It is not subliminal instruction, a university recording, or a description of quantum effects inside this classical terrarium.
